Welcome to the P & T Ranch
A Care Farm in central Alberta
Our mission: Taking care of the land, taking care of each other

What is a care farm? It is a place where you can go to spend time in nature and with animals. To practice resilience. To get out of your own head. To rest your nervous system.
Our care farm is like a peaceful sanctuary… where alpacas graze lush green grass… unless the boys get frisky and start wrestling!
Our farm is a bit like a park, except that since it is private land, you know there won’t be any unexpected strangers in the bushes. You can relax. The alpacas might graze near you, or they might not.
More About Us
This is the farm that Teresa grew up on! Teresa and Darren bought this farm when Teresa’s parents were ready to retire and move to the city. Teresa had heard about the concept of a care farm years before, and knew that she wanted to create one. After quite a bit of work to clean up some areas, get rid of old equipment, and generally make it safer and nicer, Teresa and Darren decided to open the care farm.
Most people would probably create a not-for-profit society, but Teresa and Darren decided not to. They have lots of reasons. Since it is a private farm, it is only open to friends and family. Not related? Become a friend!
How to become a friend
It’s pretty easy, really. Contact us using the form, or send us an email, and Teresa or Darren will get together with you over a coffee or tea. We will talk about why you would like to come to the farm, and if you seem to be respectful and kind, then you’re our friend! 🙂 If you are farther away, we might do the first part over the phone.

Some Reasons You Might Want to Come
- You’ve gotten a big, scary diagnosis and you need time to think about what to do next.
- You are grieving the loss of a loved one.
- You’ve been through a major life event and need time to reset.
- You need to get away from the city and spend quiet time in nature.
- You think alpacas are the cutest ever and want to help us out on the farm.
- You have children and you would like them to have some farm experiences.
